Our work with DIY SOS

Fire Block are excited to announce our work with DIY SOS The Big Build and the BBC Children in Need appeal 2023!

We joined Nick Knowles and the DIY SOS team in a special collaboration build in aid of BBC Children in Need in Risley, Derbyshire. Joined by tradespeople and volunteers from across the UK, the team built a purpose-built building for Treetops Hospice to deliver support and counselling for children and young people who are experiencing traumatic bereavement.

This year’s Big Build for Children In Need

The incredibly moving programme, aired on the 16 November, shared stories from children and families that have benefited from the crucial support of Treetops Hospice during some of the most difficult times of their lives. This year’s Big Build for Children In Need was done in partnership with Radio 2 and the team were joined by presenters from the network including Richie Anderson, Zoe Ball, Rev Kate Bottley, Scott Mills, Jeremy Vine and Owain Wyn Evans, to complete this new building in just 10 days. The programme followed the trials and tribulations of the team, tradespeople and volunteers, with the epic reveal celebrated with an extra special surprise from Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

We were proud to support such a great endeavour where we supplied and installed Passive Fire Protection with the co-operation of our supplier FSI, to ensure the safety of volunteers, counsellors and the children who will use the centre.

A great experience and wonderful people to work with!
